Celebrating Maritime Heritage in Seattle

Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival

The Wooden Boat Festival, designed to celebrate the maritime heritage of the Northwest “putting tools in hands and getting people out on the water in historic wooden boats.” This isn’t a “stuffy” event say the organizers. It’s a down-home waterfront event “where everything is fun and most things are free.” One of the big highlights over the course of the event is the Lake Union Challenge Cup where contestants have to build a boat within 24 hours and then race it against other team members and see if it is sea-worthy.

The Wooden Boat Festival will be held from July 1-4, 2017 at the Center for Wooden Boats located at 1010 Valley St., Seattle 98109. For more information, visit the website.
