|"Year of the Rooster" (CIDBIA)|
SPECIAL EVENTSSeattle is subtlety boasting how its Lunar New Year Celebration is largest of its kind in the region. It’s a hodge-podge of diversity and Asian culture shown through traditional dragon and lion dances Japanese Taiko Drumming, martial arts along with an art show, family-friendly activities, a children’s parade and more. The best part is that this “year of the rooster” celebration is free and is open to everyone to attend.
Held in Seattle’s Chinatown International District, the 2017 Lunar New Year celebration will be on Saturday and Sunday, January 28 (11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) and 29 (11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.). One of the recent highlights of the event is the $3 Food Walk offering $3 “tastes” from China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and more all made from local restaurants.
More information will be updated at the event’s website as it becomes available.
