Twede’s Café started in the 1940’s as Thompson’s Café. It has survived World War II, the Great Depression, the timber industry boom and even a fire in 2000 but perhaps its greatest claim to fame was its regular appearance on the Twin Peaks TV series in the early 1990’s.

The story goes that while scouring the country for the right location for his new ABC series, director David Lynch spotted Twede’s, along with the whole Snoqualmie Valley, and deemed the place “Perfect!” The show immortalized the café’s cherry pie and “damn fine cup o’ coffee” as uttered by Agent Dale Cooper, although the name was changed to the Double R Diner for the show.

Twede's Café also stars in the new Twin Peaks revival limited series coming soon to Showtime. After a fire in 2000, Twede's was remodeled, but the television crew came in to restore the diner to its former dark-paneled beauty featured in the show.

Almost everything is made from scratch at Twede’s which is also known for their great burgers, big breakfasts and home-style dinners and they pride themselves that “no one ever goes away hungry.”

Twede’s Café is located at 137 W North Bend Way in North Bend, WA 98045. They are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
