Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in Smell-O-Vision

The Late Gene Wilder's classic role now in Smell-O-Vision! (SIFF)
Sure, you’ve seen the 1971 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory numerous times (and you’ve been freaked out by the boat scene) but wouldn’t it be great if you could smell all of that candy goodness? Now you can! The SIFF Film Center is bringing back one of their holiday favorites presented with “Smell-O-Vision” goodie bags filled with fragrant and tasty treats. “Bring your nose, your taste buds, and your sense of adventure as you tour the most eccentric and wonderful candy factory,” says SIFF.

The movie is rated “G,” (but seriously, cover your kids’ eyes during the boat scene) will be presented in HD Digital and stars Gene Wilder, Jack Albertson, Peter Ostrum, Roy Kinnear, Denise Nickerson, Leonard Stone, Julie Dawn Cole, Paris Themmen and Dodo Denney. This special presentation runs each weekend (Friday-Sunday) from November 25-January 2, 2017. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 for SIFF Members and $14 for Senior and Youth (SIFF Cinema passes and vouchers are not valid for this special presentation.) Times vary for each day.

The movie will be presented at the SIFF Film Center, a state-of-the-art 95 seat jewel box cinema, with seats rescued from the balcony of Seattle's Cinerama Theatre. Featuring 2K digital projection (in most any digital format), archival-ready 35mm print projection, and Dolby surround sound, the Film Center is a true home for extraordinary film experiences.

Tickets for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory can be purchased on the SIFF website. The SIFF Film Center is located near the corner of Warren Ave and Republican St. in Seattle. For more information, call the information line at (206) 324-9996.
