Victorian Country Christmas Celebrates 29 Year
Many years ago, Lynda Pressey lost her sister due to cancer. About that same time, she was visiting Disneyland during Christmastime and was touched by the spectacular celebration. She began wondering if something similar could be built in Washington. According to its website, Lynda and her husband Rod invested his retirement funds into creating the Victorian Country Christmas.
Wanting more than just producing another craft, arts and gift show, the Pressey’s wanted to create a Christmas festival that had the look and feel of an 1800’s Victorian village that would include every booth and shopkeepers would be dressed up for the part as well.
In addition to the shopping experience, the Victorian Country Christmas also features many live shows including the Silver Spurs Country Western Revue (that features singers, dancers, acrobats and comedians), The Stardust Follies show (Broadway style show featuring performers age 50 and older) and singing nativity and course Santa is on hand as well.
Held at the Washington State Fair Events Center in Puyallup, the Victorian Country Christmas is held from November 30-December 4, 2016. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62 and older, $10 for students ages 6-18, $9 for military and kids age 5 and under are free. Tickets are even cheaper if purchased online.
The Washington State Fair Events Center is located at 110 9th Ave. SW in Puyallup, 98371.
