Think The Goldfinch Tavern for a Festive Night Out

Named after Washington’s state bird, The Goldfinch Tavern is a partnership between Ethan Stowell Restaurants and the Four Season Hotel and is led by Chef Joe Ritchie. Serving Pacific Northwest cuisine, the upscale restaurant says that it plays tribute to the lumberjacks and sailor of yesteryear creating a sophisticated yet comfortable place for locals to conduct business while enjoying food and drink with a view that overlooks the waterfront.


The Goldfinch should be saved for a special occasion. The restaurant offers these suggestions:

Trust the Chef
Providing a true Ethan Stowell Restaurants tasting experience, you’ll never experience the same meal twice if you choose the Trust the Chef option. As a the chef’s guests, you’ll enjoy a “generous wave of shared appetizers” with fresh local ingredients like oysters, crab, bruschetta, crudo and octopus. These are followed by individual courses of pasta, lamb or local beef and fish. And for the finale, an indulgent dessert for two. Price: $75 per person. Optional wine paring for an additional $45.

Christmas Eve Dinner
Special a la cate menu with seasonal market-to-table specials from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

Christmas Day Dinner
The celebratory meal begins with shared appetizers such as oysters on the half shell; King crab salad; sockeye salmon carpaccio; and poached pear and artisan cheese bruschetta. Then select your pièce de résistance: grilled Wagyu beef; braised lamb shanks; roasted Muscovy duck; seared scallops, or white truffle ravioli. Save room for one of the delectable desserts. The four course dinner is served 2:00-9:00 p.m. $125 per adult, $200 if paired with wine, $35 for children ages 3 to 12.

New Year’s Eve Dinner
Serving a four-course dinner at two seatings: 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. $125 per person. $200 if paired with wine.
