The Gingerbread Village is a Nice Place to Visit

The Gingerbread Village at the Seattle Sheraton. (Seattle Sheraton)
This year marks the 24th year for the Annual Gingerbread Village, one of Seattle’s more quiet holiday traditions, but worth checking out. Each year, the culinary team at the downtown Sheraton Hotel team up with local architecture firms to design, bake and build amazing edible creations based on whatever theme has been decided for that year. This year’s theme is “favorite wizarding worlds.”

The Gingerbread Village will be set up in the lobby of the hotel from November 22, 2016 through January 1, 2017. The event is free and visitors will be given a chance to vote for their favorite design. Donations are encouraged and all proceeds will go toward the JDRF Northwest Chapter who is committed to funding to cure type 1 diabetes and its complications. To date, the event has raised more than $700,000 for the JDRF over the past 20 years.

The Sheraton Hotel is located at 1400 6th Ave. in Seattle 98101. More information is available at where you can view the gingerbread displays, vote for your favorite and donate online.
